Domo-kun

On Sunday last week, I mentioned my excitement about the Domo Qee Series 4.  I have a minor obsession with the Domo character, especially when he is all dressed up and colourful like the Domo Qee series usually is.  Domo is the mascot for the Japanese broadcasting company NHK.  He first appeared in some stop-motion sketches created to celebrate NHK's 10th anniversary and his popularity grew from there.  Domo has inspired an original English-language manga called Domo: The Manga and tons of merchandise.  My favourites are the Domo Qee figurines.  They are all blind-boxed so you don’t know which one you are getting until you open the box:

I swear if I didn’t have to convert to dollars and pay for shipping I’d have a ton of these little guys in my house.   At the moment I have Space Domo from series 3:

As soon as I can, I will be ordering some series 4 Domos to keep him company.  If you are interested, you can find a ton of Domo goodness on the Domo Nation site and some of the short sketches here.
